Area Deaths

Carolyn J. McConnell, 61, of Brooksville, died Sunday, March 9, at her home. She was born in Wise County, Va., and moved to this area two years ago from Hamilton, Ohio.
Ms. McConnell was a homemaker, a member of the Elvis Fan Club and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include a son, Nick McConnell of Spring Hill; a daughter, Carrie Ann Stone of Patriot, Ind.; a brother, Jerry Crawford of Hamilton, Ohio; three sisters, Sue Coleman and Ann Gray, both of Brooksville, and Mary Waples of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Lawrence Roy, 82, of Brooksville, died Saturday, March 7, at Brooksville Regional Hospital. He was born in Frenchville, Maine, and moved to this area from Eagle Lake, Maine.
Mr. Roy was a schoolteacher with the Madawaska School District in Maine. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of the VFW, Knights of Columbus, Maine Teachers Association and St. Mary Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; four sons, Philip Pinette of Brooksville, and Everett and Bill Pinette of Bristol, Conn., Allen Pinette of Granby, Conn.; and four daughters, Eileen Muir of Granby, Marlene Schwartz of Hartford, Conn., Sandra Masse of Tampa and Ann Powers of Bristol.
