» 2 Comments | Post a Comment

A train was halted in time Tuesday before it crashed into a pile of wreckage from a vehicle accident that occurred along the railroad tracks earlier that morning, authorities said.

The road was blocked along State Road 50 and Trieman Boulevard shortly before 9 a.m. following a head-on collision involving a dump truck, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.

A train traveling southbound from Bushnell was en route, but it was stopped before it reached the scene of the accident, deputies said.

All of the injured people were removed from the vehicles safely, according to the sheriff's office.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
