Next school budget meeting is Tuesday

Three hearings are scheduled Tuesday for the Hernando County School Board, including a second public hearing about the upcoming budget.

The five-panel board will meet at 2 p.m. regarding the Fair Labor Standards Act Compliance manual, Hepatitis B vaccinations and the media and athletic handbooks.

The budget workshop will follow, during which Chief Financial Officer Desiree Henegar will discuss appropriations and expenditures.

Preliminary budget numbers show nearly a $16 million decline in revenues for the upcoming fiscal year.

Henegar passed that information to the board during the previous budget workshop last month.

Tuesday's workshop will be followed by the regular school board meeting at 7 p.m.
