Defiant attitude

»  Comments | Post a Comment

On Monday, I dropped by the West Hernando Branch at approximately 10 a.m. to return some books. I already knew that the building would not open until noon.

I noted eight cars and one van in the staff parking lot. I understand that the library's budget has been reduced. However, it seems that sufficient staff was present to open the door and allow, at a minimum, people to check out material. Many, if not most of us, need a librarian only to check out books.

It is apparent to me that the library budget cuts have resulted in a defiant "let's harm the public" attitude with concomitant shortening of hours.

Any commissioners out there care to investigate how many personnel hours have actually been cut? I doubt it.
