Actress Coming To Town To Promote Movie

The effects of an ailing economy often manifest in added stress for a family.

But that's no reason to give up on a marriage, says David Steadman, church administrator for Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

That's one of the reasons the church is screening the critically acclaimed movie "Fireproof" this weekend.

A central message of the film is that you never give up on your partner, Steadman said.

"Even if you're going through a bad situation with your husband or wife, it's for better or worse, for richer or poorer," Steadman said.

As an added bonus, the lead actress in the movie, Erin Bethea, will be in town Saturday night to sign autographs and talk about the movie's impact.

Bethea plays Catherine Holt, a woman at the crossroads of a failing seven-year marriage to her firefighter husband, Capt. Caleb Holt. As the couple goes into divorce proceedings, Caleb Holt accepts a "love challenge" from his father that transforms their marriage.

The movie begins tonight at 7 p.m.; tickets are $3 and can be bought at the door or in advance by calling the church at 796-4969. Steadman doesn't expect space will be an issue: the sanctuary fills up to 850 people.

Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church is located at 200 Mt. Fair Ave. in Brooksville.
