A man barged into a house to escape a pursuing deputy Wednesday afternoon, then slammed a door on the deputy's shoulder, a report shows.
The deputy was on patrol in the area of Peach Street when he said he recognized a wanted man named Derrick Wilson. When the deputy tried to talk with Wilson, the suspect took off on foot and escaped into a Peach Street home, a report shows.
As the deputy attempted to follow him inside, Wilson reportedly slammed the door on the deputy's shoulder. The deputy pushed back, pinning Wilson between the wall and the door.
Wilson, 36, was arrested on charges of burglary, battery on an officer, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest without violence. The residents of the house said they didn't know Wilson.
