Elections On City Council Agenda

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

The 2010 City Council election would be under the purview of the county elections office if the council passes a resolution up for consideration today.

The council will mull a measure that would turn over candidate filing duties to the county.

The council already changed the city code to allow for the move that Vice-mayor Lara Bradburn proposed back in July. Bradburn argued the change would save the city money and get rid of any appearance of bias on the part of city staffers.

The council also will consider changes to the city personnel policy that include allowing a up to a three-day leave for victims of domestic violence.

The council meets at 7 p.m. tonight at City Hall, 201 N. Howell Ave.
