It's that time of year again.

The Hernando County Parks Department on Sunday started charging the annual peak season $2 per vehicle parking fee at Pine Island.

The parking fee will be charged from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m and will be in effect through Nov. 14.

Rogers Park will begin charging in late March or early April and continue through mid-September.

Annual parking passes for Pine Island and Rogers Park are available for $40, including tax, at the tax collector's westside office, 7489 Forest Oaks Boulevard, and at the Parks Department in room 260 at the Government Center in Brooksville.

For more information about the fee, call 754-4027.
