Lost Woman Goes Home

A woman went missing Saturday morning following a 5K race at Chinsegut Nature Center, but it was discovered she made it home a few hours later, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies were called to the state park shortly before 10:30 a.m. Laura Brunner, 44, of Brooksville, was with her family soon after the final runners crossed the finish line, witnesses said.

Brunner got lost shortly thereafter.

It was not immediately known how she made it home.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) led the search at the state park. The sheriff's office assisted with a K-9, helicopters, all-terrain vehicles and other resources, Groves said.

Chinsegut is located along Lake Lindsey Road, one mile west of U.S. 41.
