'SWAT' Team Games Land Three Men In Jail

A trio of young men armed with a rifle broke into an abandoned mobile home on Thursday to play "SWAT" team.

That turned into a problem when the real cops showed up, who were not amused by the vandalized trailers they reportedly found on the lot at 17300 Powell Road.

The neighbor to that property called authorities after hearing the suspects laughing as they traipsed around the collection of old homes. One of the suspects, Dante Salvati, 19, told the deputy they were pretending to play SWAT and clearing the rooms of "bad guys," a report shows.

The deputy collected the rifle and ammunition and charged Salvati, Michael Musser, 19, and Daniel Piechowicz, 18, with armed burglary.

Officer Pulls Over Same Driver In Five Hours

BROOKSVILLE An officer found a familiar face inside a car pulled over early Friday morning.

Behind the wheel was Michael Gjertsen, 45, whom the officer had given a citation to five hours prior for driving on a license that had been suspended three times, a report shows. Asked why he was driving again, Gjertsen said he had just dropped off a friend in Groveland was on his way back home, according to a report.

Gjertsen was arrested this time on a charge of driving on a suspended license with knowledge.
