BROOKSVILLE The Brooksville City Council will meet at 7 p.m. tonight at City Hall to consider an ordinance to take over the management of city impact fees - putting them at a higher rate than the county.
However, the timing of council members' interest in the matter might pose a problem with the city tied into interlocal agreements with other public entities and requirements to show just cause for increasing the fees.
Staff members also point out that the city would be at risk for acquiring all legal costs and would be put at risk if a lawsuit were filled regarding impact fees.
Currently, the interlocal agreement with the county covers legal defense.
In other business, council members will consider:
- A $15,910 bid award to Hach Company for three online fluoride analyzers for the public works department.
- Filling seats for the beautification board, cemetery advisory board and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
- Do the city manager evaluation.
