A three-day musical event entitled "Journey Fest 2010" will showcase more than 35 bands on multiple stages throughout the grounds of the Sertoma Youth Ranch Friday through Sunday, Feb. 26-28. Journey Fest hours will be from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Friday; from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday; and from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Headlining the event will be The Charlie Daniels Band: country, southern rock, gospel and christian artists will also perform a full lineup of music.
During a 50-year career, Charlie Daniels has topped charts in rock, country, pop and christian, and garnered countless awards from the Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music, the TNN/Music City News Award, and the Gospel Music Association. His signature song, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," topped both country and pop charts and brought international acclaim.
On Saturday, Feb. 27, family-oriented entertainment and activities including a Kids' Play Zone will be featured. A full array of food and craft vendors will be available. Closing out the festival on Sunday evening will be a performance by The Charlie Daniels Band.
The Sertoma Youth Ranch is located at 85 Myers Road, between Interstate 75 and the Suncoast Parkway, and is also accessible from State Road 50 via Lockhart Road or Spring Lake Highway (CR 541).
Tickets for Saturday and Sunday daytime events are $10 per person. Sunday full day including the evening performance by The Charlie Daniels Band are $20 per person. Full weekend tickets are $40 per person. Tickets for Feb. 28 performances, including The Charlie Daniels Band show, can be purchased at the Hernando County Tourism Bureau office, located inside the lobby of the Quality Inn & Suites, 30305 Cortez Blvd., (S.R. 50 near I-75), Brooksville.
