I write this lettering wondering if anyone else found Brian Moore's letter on Dec. 16 a bit disturbing. Under the guise of calling for a third party, Mr. Moore basically blames both Democrats and Republicans for 9/11. It was right there in black and white in the third paragraph where he talks about us going to war every other year, which is always supported by Congress: "And the two major political parties have no one else to blame for the 9/11 attack."
Oh, really Mr. Moore, are you saying we shouldn't blame the terrorists or that we made the terrorists attack us?
I know people like Mr. Moore hate our form of government, and I sometimes wonder why he still lives in the United States. Maybe we can hold a fundraiser and by him a one-way ticket to Cuba or some other socialist country of his choice.
But Mr. Moore is right about one thing, and that is we could use a third party: a Conservative Party, a party that represents the views of our Founding Fathers and not the vile socialist views of Mr. Moore.
I am originally from New York and when I turned 18 I joined the Conservative Party. I have been a proud member up until the time I moved to Florida. New York even had a Liberal Party and a Right to Life Party, all of which had a great influence in the election of candidates. New York in 1968 voted for a conservative senator, James Buckley, so I know first hand that third-party candidates can win.
As for Mr. Ingogla's fears about a third party hurting the Republican Party, well all I can tell Mr. Ingogla is that if you don't want to see a third party then don't back weak-kneed moderate candidates, who basically stand for nothing, and put up strong conservatives.
