Who will save our republic?

»  Comments | Post a Comment

In response to Blaise Ingoglia's eloquent column in the Dec. 4 edition of Hernando Today, I wish to share the following comments. But first, I wish to thank Mr. Ingoglia for expressing his concerns over the future of the Republican Party and our great nation. I am proud to be a conservative Republican and American patriot.

Mr. Ingoglia's main focus was on preserving the Republican Party, and that's commendable and understandable, since he is chairman of the Hernando County Republican Executive Committee. He expressed concern that many voting Republicans are turning away from the party and joining third-party movements.

I agree with Mr. Ingoglia that many people are fed up with our government's spending, corruption and the expansion of our government. He stated that people are becoming more vocal about their government's disregard to the will of the people. Thus, many American patriots are becoming proactive with tea parties and town hall meetings. The Internet and conservative talk radio and Fox News have been instrumental to inform the people of the goings-on of our government.

The current president and his administration have openly and aggressively been transforming America towards a socialist state, while the Republican Party sits on the sidelines due to the power grab by the liberal Democrats. But the Democrats have been helped from the liberal Republicans who are deceptively more left than some Democrats. The Republican Party has been split by the likes of Nelson Rockefeller. In fact, it was Colin Powell, a Republican, who said that Obama would be the "transformational President" America needed and he gave his support to Barack Obama for his election. (What did he know that we didn't?)

Sad to say America has been on this road towards socialism that is threatening the very core of our nation, the U.S. Constitution. Whether the president has been a Republican or a Democrat, the underlying agenda of the elite has been followed to transform America to a socialist nation and, ultimately, under a global governance. All that America is facing today didn't happen overnight. Thus, the problems facing America today are not new, only more magnified and in the open. The agenda of the Progressives have reached the point where they today have reached the "red zone" and are aiming for the goal line. President Obama was picked and elected to be the quarterback to help transform America to become a socialist state.

If the truth be known, "We the People" are not in charge of our government as it was meant to be under the Constitution. The two organizations that run the United States government are The Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission. From its inception, the council has been bipartisan, welcoming members of both Democratic and Republican parties. The CFR started a program in 2008 to last for five years called "International Institutions and Global Governance: World Order in the 21st Century," which aims in setting up global institutions at different levels to foster a global governance, in order to tackle different trans-national problems. (What becomes of U.S. sovereignty and the U.S. Constitution?)

So what's my point in saying all of this in response to Mr. Ingoglia's editorial? There is more than just dealing with third-party issues. The Republican Party must first clean house among its own ranks and rid itself of liberal Republicans. (Why didn't the GOP become outspoken of Colin Powell's remarks and defection?) In addition to purging the liberals, the Republican Party must cease to follow the policies and mandates of the CFR and the Trilaterals, and follow the mandates of the Constitution and the people they serve, and not special interest. The GOP must convince the Independents and moderate Democrats that the time has come to unite and fight the cancer within our government that is trying to change our republic.

If they don't succeed in 2010, than a third party may be the only answer in 2012 along with passing term limits. As more patriotic Americans find out the truth, the more they will get involved in taking back their country before it's too late.

It is my hope that conservative Republicans will rid the GOP of liberal Republicans and help carry the banner to save America from the liberal left and global governance.
