authorities say they broke into a golf course storage area and stole seven golf carts from the property.
David Stanley, 24, New Port Richey, and Tiffany Hines, 30, Spring Hill, were arrested Sunday and each faces burglary charges after authorities say they stole the golf carts from Spring Hill Golf and Country Club on two separate occasions. The golf carts are worth an estimated $3,000 each, according to a sheriff's department report.
Stanley faces five charges - two for burglary of conveyance, one burglary charge and two charges of dealing in stolen property. Hines is charged with one burglary charge and one charge of dealing in stolen property.
According to the arrest report, both Stanley and Hines broke into the club on Nov. 23 and 25 by using a master key they possessed and drove the carts to a nearby garage. They broke through a gate and damaged fence at the golf course.
Both were taken to Hernando County jail. Stanley remained in the jail Monday on $6,000 bond. Hines was released on $7,000 bond.
