A Spring Hill man was arrested and charged with burglary of a dwelling after the victim saw him riding his bicycle the day after it was reportedly stolen, deputies said.
Felix Lazaro Colarte, 37, of 7032 Catalina St., admitted to committing the burglary and consented to a search warrant, which yielded stolen items from at least two victims, according to an arrest report.
The victim, who lives in the 6600 block of Treehaven Drive in Spring Hill, saw Colarte riding his bicycle Monday, Aug. 24. Hernando County Sheriff's deputies responded and the victim positively identified the bicycle and some pieces of jewelry as his own, according to the report.
The day before, Colarte entered the house by prying open a sliding glass door, deputies said.
He stole two DVD players, approximately 49 DVDs, a leather jacket, a motorcycle jacket, jewelry and a mountain bike, deputies said.
The combined value of the items exceeded $1,000.
A search of Colarte's house led to the discovery of some of the victim's belongings, as well as items from "another case being located," deputies said.
Colarte was being held on a $15,000 bond at the Hernando County Jail.
