»  Comments | Post a Comment

The 5th Judicial Circuit Court Guardian ad Litem Program will offer free training for anyone who is interested in becoming a Guardian ad Litem volunteer. The professional staff of the program recruits, trains and supervises individuals who are then court-appointed to advocate for the best interests of children who have been abused, abandoned or neglected and are now in the Foster Care System. Through this program, local foster children are able to have their voices heard in the dependency court process.

Free training will be offered Sept. 17, 18, 23 and 25 at Brooksville Regional Hospital located at 17240 Cortez Blvd. For just a few hours a month, volunteers can make a difference in a child's life. For more information on how to attend the training and become a Guardian ad Litem volunteer, call Cathi Thompson at 352-274-2635 or toll-free at 1-866-341-1425.
