Blame Bush

Between your editorials and letters to the editor, a lot of people have been complaining about these United States becoming a socialist state and it being President Barack Obama's fault.

To this I say blame the previous administration. Then President George Bush made it easier for the current president to rob the taxpayers by starting it. If Bush hadn't have done it, Obama would have had a problem.

We all knew deep down inside we were heading for socialism a long time ago. The people who select our presidents found the perfect sucker in November 2008. The powers that be tell him what to do, and he does it. I feel like this president is a yes man through and through.

To those politicians who were originally against the president's stimulus package and now want a piece, I say forget you, and I will do just that the next time someone runs against you.

As for government wanting to take away the nation's guns, the best thing you can do when they come for yours is point the weapon at them and just say no. If we don't, and the system gets our guns, we will find ourselves swarmed upon one day like flies at a picnic by the United Nations when we create what they deem a disturbance.

When will this country learn the two-party system is working together? I bet if the next president is Republican and he/she doesn't roll back what Obama has done, people would still fall for the tripe that they are told.

If people really want to know the truth about what's happening in this country, listen to the party that's out of power, because the party that's in power is too busy doing the opposite.

Isolationism Is The Answer

Our nation is in a critical, political mess. Can it be solved? Yes, it can. It will take time and patience on the people's side. We must elect politicians who have the guts to stand up for the Constitution regardless of how much name calling and mud smearing of their names, against any foreign or special interest groups or lobbyists.

First, we must get rid of the two-party systems that are selling us out to foreign businesses. Repeal the free trade and Federal Reserve Act. Bring back the gold standard to back the dollar. Get rid of the progressive income tax and raise the tariff on all imports. That will bring the cost of foreign-made products to equal ours and even higher so we the people can afford to buy them. Raise the tariff 20 to 25 percent. This will force our American factories to move back here.

We must vote for a political party outside of the two-party system. We can declare bankruptcy and cancel the national debt.

Remember, it took years to come to this mess our nation is in, so don't expect overnight solutions.

We can turn to drilling our own oil and other resources, like coal, wind, etc. Volcanoes pollute our atmosphere far more than coal. But, to accomplish these things, you have to vote in independents and a third or fourth political party. This two-party system is no longer for the welfare of our nation; it's all for foreign countries and wars first. It's time to forget other foreign countries and start rebuilding our country first. No more foreign aid or sticking our nose where it doesn't belong. Stay neutral in all foreign affairs. And don't forget God. He gave us a republic government through the minds of our forefathers.

Falling Into A Trap

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. "What food might this contain?" The mouse wondered - he was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it."

The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The pig sympathized, but said "I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in my prayers."

The mouse turned to the cow and said "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose."

So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap alone. That very night a sound was heard throughout the house like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey.

The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital, and she returned home with a fever.

Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient. But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig.

The farmer's wife did not get well; she died.

So many people came for her funeral the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them. The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness.

So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn't concern you, remember: When one of us is threatened, we are all at risk.

We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another.
