Chinsegut Nature Center will conduct the following activities:
Fireflies of Florida by Dr. James Lloyd from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 3. A slide show of the natural history of fireflies will be featured.
Big Pine bird and wildflower walk from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7. Meet at the Big Pine parking lot of the Nature Center. If possible, bring binoculars, bird and wildflower books.
Florida's hummingbirds by Bev Hansen from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. Friday, April 17.
Chinsegut owl and bat prowl from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, April 17.
Chinsegut Birding and Wildlife Festival from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 18. Bird banding, Florida bat talk, butterfly walk, wildflower and bird walks, creating backyard habitat, puppet show, birds of prey programs, bird house building, bird games for kids, and offsite bird tours will be featured. Natural history vendors/exhibitors will be onsite as well as a lunch vendor. In-service credit will be available for teachers.
Unless otherwise noted, all programs will meet at the Chinsegut Nature Center, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, 23212 Lake Lindsey Road (C.R. 476), Brooksville. All programs are free of charge. Since seating is limited, reservations are required for workshops and classes.
