There is a pulled pork or smoked turkey dinner from noon to 1:30 p.m. today at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on U.S. 41. Along with pulled pork and smoked turkey, the menu includes baked beans, French fries, cole slaw, garlic bread, rolls, dessert, coffee, tea and punch.
There is a $7.50 donation for adults and $3.75 for those 10 and under. Or choose the $20 family plan. On the children's menu is sloppy joes and mac n' cheese. All proceeds will go to the Ministry Center Food Pantry, with Thrivent matching the funds, to help feed the increasing number of needy.
The next fundraiser is the Oktoberfest on Oct. 5 in the Fellowship Hall from noon to 1:30 p.m. Bratwurst, cabbage rolls, sauerkraut, German potato salad, rye bread, dessert and beverages will be served for a donation of $8 per adult dinner and $4 for those 10 and under.
Bingo is now offered at the county fairgrounds off U.S. 41. On Tuesday, doors open at 2 p.m. and games start at 5.30 p.m.; on Sunday, doors open at 2 p.m. and games start at 5 p.m. They have a cash payout of $3,700 each session. This is sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police 164.
Food is available by Dave and Eileen Kulwicki, formerly with the Masaryktown Bingo kitchen. This bingo is completely under new management with a more cheerful atmosphere for your playing pleasure. The FOP wishes to thank those of the Masaryktown Bingo, who help every Tuesday and Sunday and who also help in Masaryktown on Wednesday and Saturday. So, now there are games every Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
Something new is starting - the ABC Club (the Awesome Bead Club). Learn how to make beaded home decor, seasonal decorations, etc. for fun or possibly your own profit. Every Monday at 7 p.m. at the Masaryktown Community Hall on Lincoln Avenue, with classes starting last Monday.

This news item is related to the farmers' market opening at Kennedy Park on U.S. 41 near the yellow caution light. Carolyn Richards' sister Wilma Robinson came to visit for a couple of weeks from Tell City, Ind. Carolyn drove her back to Tell City where she visited with her mom Muriel Peckinpaugh for a week or so.
Then her hubby Gene Richards, president of the community, flew out to join for a spell and brought Carolyn home. All had a nice visit.

Sympathies to the family of little 4-year-old Haley Stalter, who was a victim of a fatal accident on U.S. 41 Tuesday morning.
There is a collection by the Moose Lodge to help the family with burial expenses. The collection container is at the Sheriff's Office sub station located on U.S. 41 next to the Post Office. All help will be greatly appreciated.
