Real Ride Americans Being Taken On Is Driven By GOP

Re: "Dems Taking The American Public For A Ride," letter to the editor by Peter Stathis in the Aug. 29 edition of Hernando Today.

As you have repeatedly rebutted my articles (and many others) with your typical opinionated rhetoric and injection of factual inaccuracies, I can't help noticing your resurrected line, "at least one can say about McCain is that he served his country and has never associated with racists ... as Sen. Barack Obama has done."

It's the same sentence you used to retort my "McCain's Lack of Integrity" letter. I would suggest readers research/GOOGLE Sen. John McCain's ongoing list of scandals: •"Keating 5" scandal.

•Donald R. Diamond dirty real estate deal.

•"Cash for Access" Randy Scheunemann scandal.

•Mike DeWine/Jessica Cutler scandal.

•McCain's adamantly denied relationship with lobbyist Vicki Iseman and her connection to McCain - a 727 plane she provided to McCain in which, together, they flew several Saudi royals from the U.S. to the safety of London just after the 9/11 terrorist attacks (perpetrated by Saudis).

The real "American Public Ride" is being hosted by the Republicans! McCain's V.P. running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, is a last-ditch effort by Republicans to win over the women supporters of Hillary Clinton and to outshine Barack Obama's history making African-American presidential nomination and convention attendance.

The 'Associated Press' writes: "Sarah Palin, a small-town mayor and self-described "hockey-mom" with little statewide political experience..." took office in 2006 amidst Alaska's slew of Republican scandals (Republican Sen. Ted Stevens) one of which involves Palin herself. The Associated Press quotes that Palin (whose 2006 platform was on ethics reform), "could see her clean-hands reputation damaged by a growing furor over whether she tried to get her former brother-in-law fired as a state trooper."

My genuine gratitude to every war veteran aside, McCain's never-ending whining pity-play about his service is shameless to say the least. Tortured? The only broken bones he sustained were the ones broken when his plane was shot down.

Sen. Joe Biden: "Simply having served in Vietnam doesn't qualify you for the White House or deserve your vote."

Also, Palin has so little political experience (only two years as governor of a scandal ridden state) and even less than George Bush, and knowing that McCain has one foot in death's door and the other on a banana peel, what intelligent/reasonable person could believe or entrust Palin with the responsibility of commander in chief of the United States?
