An 89-year-old woman was killed in a three-car crash at the intersection of Forest Oaks and Deltona boulevards Tuesday afternoon.
The victim was eastbound on Forest Oaks Boulevard around 2:15 p.m. and failed to stop for a red light, bringing her into the path of two northbound cars on Deltona Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The victim was hit by one of the oncoming cars, which swerved to avoid a collision and hit the third vehicle, FHP reported. All three vehicles came to rest in the roadway, causing a roadblock that lasted for "an extended period of time."
The victim, who was not identified on Tuesday, died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa.
None of the other three people involved in the crash were injured.
