Area Deaths

Grace Ida McGuirt, 91, of Spring Hill, died Friday, Aug. 29, at Oak Hill Hospital. She was born in Riverton, Ill., and moved to the area 28 years ago from Miami.
Ms. McGuirt was a teacher, member of Eastern Star, White Shrine, Withlacoochee River Rockhounds and First United Methodist Church of Spring Hill.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Weatherford, of Lakeland; son, Tom, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Arrangements by Turner Funeral and Cremation Center, Spring Hill Chapel.

Edward Michael Sweeney, 57, of Brooksville, died Monday, Aug. 25, at Oak Hill Hospital. He moved to the area a year ago from the Bronx, N.Y.
Mr. Sweeney retired from the New York City Transit Authority.
Survivors include his brothers, Stephen, of Weeki Wachee, and John, of Palm Bay; and sister, Mary Cavallo, of Palm Bay.
