Truth Not Distractions

If you can't convince them - confuse them! That seems to be the real platform of McCain/Palin. Nothing but outright lies about Obama being a Muslim (he's a Christian); about his "association" with Bill Ayers (they sat years ago on a bi-partisan board at the Woods Foundation to improve communities and education); that Obama's campaign was launched from Ayers home when, in fact, it was launched from a Ramada Hotel.
Their hateful rhetoric will, sooner or later, incite some radical nut to attempt a violent act against Obama, but they seem to think that's OK. Do you think it's OK?
McCain has a health plan. You will get $5,000 ($2,500 for a single person) to buy your own health care. That amount must then be added to your income tax filing as "income" and will be taxed, so you didn't really get $5,000 did you? That amount will never replace the insurance you may now have through your employer, which would cost you about $12,000. How will he pay for this largesse? He plans to cut $882 million from Medicare alone (good luck seniors) with another huge cut to Medicaid. He plans to "privatize" Medicare and Medicaid, so kiss them both goodbye anyway.
An analysis done by the Tax Policy Center shows the amount of the tax cut or increase we would see from the Obama and McCain plans.
I would like to share that analysis with you here:
Income: $18,982-$37,595 - Obama, $892; McCain, $118.
Income: $37,596-$66,354 - Obama, $1,118; McCain, $325.
Income: $66,355-$111,645 -- Obama, $1,264; McCain, $994.
Income: $111,646-$160,972 - Obama, $2,135; McCain, $2,584.
Income: $160,973-$226,918 - Obama, $2,796; McCain, $4,437.
Income: $226,919-$603,402 - Obama, $ 121 (increase); McCain, $8,159 (tax cut).
Income: $603,403 and up - Obama, $93,709 (increase); McCain, $48,862 (tax cut).
Read carefully because the more you make, the more McCain gives you. The only guy taking care of the middle class is Obama. A vote for McCain will take money out of your pockets and give it to the rich. Which candidate do you think cares about the working/middle class folks? Why should your taxes get into the pockets of the wealthy instead of coming back to you as a tax cut?
McCain says he will not hit you with more taxes, but he is the candidate who will now tax your health benefits, benefits that already are inadequate. If he cuts Medicare you will probably have a hard time finding good doctors who will accept less than the already meager payment they get now, so be prepared to see your moms and dads and grandparents go without needed care or get ready to help them pay for the care they need.
When McCain privatizes Social Security, it will be invested by the same Wall Street banks now failing because of risky investments. McCain, worth over $100 million, collected Social Security for seven years now ($23,157 last year), but I'm sure he wouldn't miss it much. He has had government paid health insurance since his day of birth as the son of a Navy admiral and now as a senator, but he tells you that universal health care is "socialist." Good for him, but not for the likes of the rest of us?
Some place along the line "my friends" you had better figure out who is beating you up. The current game in town is claiming voter fraud. Now let's see, ACORN hires people to go out and register new voters. Some of those hired turn in legitimate listings and some are goof-offs who turn in phony names they themselves have filled in (e.g. Mickey Mouse) and collect their pay and run. Does anyone really think anyone named Mickey Mouse is going to show up at the polls?
