Authorities say a Spring Hill man raped a 17-year-old girl while she was incapacitated by prescription painkillers.
Detectives interviewed the victim Tuesday at Spring Hill Regional Hospital where she was being treated for drug-related intoxication.
She told them a friend introduced her to the suspect, Wilfredo Pereiera, 44, on Sunday at Pioneer Skate Park. The victim went home with her friend that evening, where Pereiera, who goes by Fredo, later turned up.
Pereiera offered her a ride home and, along the way, bought some alcohol and invited the victim to come to his house to do drugs, according to an affidavit. The victim took him up on the offer.
Back at the house, Pereiera gave the victim six Xanax pills and instructed her to snort crushed pain relievers, an affidavit states. The victim was soon incapacitated and the last thing she remembered before waking up Tuesday morning was Pereiera forcing himself on her, the affidavit states.
Pereiera woke her up Tuesday morning and drove her to the area of Fairlawn Avenue, an affidavit states. The victim was evaluated at Spring Hill Regional Hospital and, once medically cleared, taken to another facility for a forensic exam.
The mutual friend who had introduced the victim to Pereiera told authorities she had been trying to reach both of them since Sunday night, an affidavit states. She led detectives to Pereiera's home Wednesday morning at 1390 Mariner Blvd., where he was arrested on a charge of sexual battery on a person incapacitated by an intoxicating substance.
