Low Blow
The mailing by county commission candidate John Druzbick is below the belt in reference to Commissioner Diane Rowden's 1993 brush with the Sunshine Law when she was new to the political process.
That was then; this is now. In the interim, Rowden has been exemplary in her sense for policy, government and judgment. She has personally interacted with scores of people in the county, helping them as a mother might. Also, she has made things happen for organizations, residents and veterans posts to expedite county services.
Commissioner Rowden should not be underestimated. Her brilliance explodes on issues most would ponder, research, delay and equivocate, struggling to find clarification in the course of perceived outcomes.

Supervising The Supervisor
I've read about the many mistakes made in the office of supervisor of elections now run by Annie Williams. If these mistakes were caught, how many were not caught? Of all places, I don't want Williams wasting my money. Will she personally reimburse the office for her mistakes? I don't think so.
We need a flush this election; let's try a new face. It might just be the thing we need. I don't know Shirley Anderson, but I've heard she is an honest person. That's exactly what we need. It's too bad the supervisor of elections needs a supervisor to watch her.

40 Million Voices
I know of 40 million voices who would vote for Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin - the unborn babies that can never be heard, for they have been killed by abortion.
No one talks about a baby's right to choose. If they could speak, they would shout, let me live; I want to live!
McCain and Palin have voted pro-life. They have voted to give the unborn a voice. They oppose abortion.
Sen. Barack Obama supports abortion. He defends Roe vs. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion and killed 40 million innocent babies. Many cry out - but a woman has a right to choose. I say no one has the right to choose murder.
In the Declaration of Independence, we, the American people, proclaim everyone should have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
The unborn killed by abortion even lose their right to be born.
Vote pro-life Nov. 4. Forty million voices will be voting with you. And the greatest voice of all; God will vote with you.

Hand Baskets, Anyone?
One of my favorite movies was "The Graduate." There was a line by a distinguished older gent (said to Dustin Hoffman). The line went something like, "Young man, if you are looking to the future, I have one word for you - plastics."
After watching the recent Wall Street disaster, the older gent's line would probably be, "Young man, if you are looking to the future, I have one word for you - hand baskets."
