I am frightened.
If we vote "yes," we keep Spring Hill Fire Rescue Board commissioners who put down Spring Hill citizens and rubber stamp the firefighter union requests. If we vote "no," the Spring Hill fire board will be dissolved and I, as a Spring Hill resident, can go before the Hernando County commissioners and be treated with respect and allowed to request oversight on the excessive spending of Spring Hill Fire Rescue District.
I really want to be able to have voice, be heard, treated with respect and get a reduction in spending. To give Spring Hill residents the right and respect to have our wishes acted on, please vote "no" and have the Spring Hill Fire Rescue board dissolved.
Dear Mr. Walter Searle, if you go to "Welcome to Hernando County" Web page you will see the link "Spring Hill Fire Rescue District Referendum." In legal words, everything will remain the same. The taxing will remain the same for the Spring Hill residents. The only difference will be the removal of the Spring Hill Fire Rescue Board that treats Spring Hill citizens, who are not affiliated with the firefighters, as dirt and ignorant. We citizens are repeatedly denigrated by them.
It is really scary for me to continue to go before the Spring Hill Fire Rescue Board to be verbally abused by them. I really want the Spring Hill Fire Rescue Board dissolved, and maybe I can get over my fear of the Spring Hill firefighters union. The signs the union paid for that say vote yes and keep your Spring Hill Fire Rescue District are fear tactics. The opposite of save is lose, implying Spring Hill residents won't have fire and rescue service. That is not true. It's really scary to me that anyone would dare threaten us with loss of fire and rescue protection. The firefighters union really scares me. Please dissolve the Spring Hill Fire Rescue Board by voting "no."
