An applicant who sought a rezoning to allow for a diesel fuel station on Broad Street will get another hearing.
The city council on Monday will hear an appeal from Richard Wilkes. Wilkes wants to open a heating and diesel fuel station at 611 N. Broad St.
The city's planning and zoning board voted 3-2 last month to deny the request. Zoning commissioners cited concerns about fuel leaks and the proximity to the operation to the historic district.
The council also is slated to give second and final consideration to an ordinance that would have the city charge insurance companies a fee to cover the cost of providing emergency services.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 201 N. Howell Ave.
