Letter Mischaracterized Crusades, But Point Was On The Mark

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

When someone says, "...you're wrong..." in response to a letter to the editor, it means two good things: one, that someone read the original letter, and two, has a contrary opinion.

In this case, the Rev. Jim Keller caught me fair and square. I mischaracterized the efforts of the Crusaders and what they were doing in the Middle Ages: trying to recover the Christian world from the Muslims of the time. Oops! The fingers on the keyboard were moving faster than the brain.

But the key issues remain. One, the media insists on keeping the quick and easy term "war on terror" when it knows full well that terror is a tactic, not an enemy, and that is what I was trying to put up front.

Second, yes, Rev. Keller, a lot of money to support the radical Muslims comes from middle-eastern countries who pretend to be our allies but really want us destroyed.

But that is still not all Muslims. The ones we should be targeting are those who are inciting their young men and women to strap bombs on their bodies and blow themselves up in crowds - of other Muslims.

Thanks for reading my comments and taking the time to respond.
