BROOKSVILLE - Police had nothing new to release on Tuesday about the murder of Isiah Collins.
Police Chief George Turner said his detectives continue to follow up on leads, but provided no other details about the investigation that began at 12:20 a.m. Monday.
That's when Collins was found fatally shot at the intersection of Roberta and Buena Vista avenues following a 911 call about shots fired.
The 29-year-old victim died minutes later at Brooksville Regional Hospital.
Drugs were found on the scene, leading police to believe the shooting was a drug deal gone wrong.
Collins' lengthy criminal history began the day after his 16th birthday in Hillsborough County with a charge of vehicle theft, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He has served seven years in prison.
