Undercover Sale Leads To Raid

»  Comments | Post a Comment

An undercover narcotics sale led deputies to raid a Spring Hill drug house and seize two ounces of crack cocaine on Wednesday.

Two weeks ago, on May 8, detectives say Nicole Andrews, 23, sold an undercover officer 2.1 grams of cocaine out of her house at 540 Edgehill Ave.

That gave them grounds for the search warrant served Wednesday at that house, which yielded 80.9 grams of crack, prescription pills, a stolen handgun and 1.8 grams of marijuana, a report shows.

While deputies were still at that address, a detective said he saw Tommy Hughes driving south on Edgehill Avenue towards the house. When Hughes caught sight of the crime scene tape he pulled a U-turn, but a uniformed deputy pulled him over, a report shows.

Hughes, 23, of 6891 Treehaven Drive, was charged with possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license. Andrews was charged in connection with the initial drug sale and with drug trafficking charges.
