A court clerk accused of leaking the identity of an undercover deputy received three years of probation in circuit court on Thursday.
Kijafa Brown made an open guilty plea last month to felony charges of disclosing confidential information, which left the sentence up to Judge Jack Springstead.
Brown was considered by authorities as a lookout for the alleged kingpin of a close-knit drug ring operating out of South Brooksville. She also spotted an undercover deputy leaving the courthouse after a deposition and passed on his identity to the dealers, court records state.
Suspect Breaks Into 31 Storage Units
Pricey electronics, DVDs and furniture all worth thousands of dollars were stolen from 31 storage units during two weeks in January.
Charged in connection with the thefts is Jason Darcangelo, 33, of 8347 Omaha Circle, who was reportedly living in one of the units at The Storage Center on Mariner Boulevard.
During his stay, Darcangelo used bolt cutters to snap locks and steal the contents, most of which is lost for good, an affidavit shows.
Report: Teen Hits Disabled Mother
Authorities charged a teenager with aggravated battery of a disabled person Thursday after he struck his mother with a phone, a report states.
The 14-year-old, who is charged as a juvenile, was on the phone with his girlfriend against his mother's orders. When she insisted he hang up, he threw the phone receiver at her, hitting her in the leg, a report states.

The man suspected of holding up the Hess gas station at 3495 Deltona Blvd on Monday night has been arrested in Pinellas County.
The sheriff's office identified the suspect as Jonathan Kurdyla, 30, of 4361 Peacock Rd, but provided no further details.
