Area Deaths

Margaret A. Evensen, 83, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, April 30, at Oak Hill Hospital. She was born in Jersey City, N.J., and moved to this area 18 years ago from Emerson, N.J.
Mrs. Evensen was head nurse at Bergen Pines County Hospital in Paramus, N.J., and most recently a nurse with Hernando-Pasco Hospice. She was a member of the Visiting Nurse Association during World War II. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and the Woman's Committee with the Democratic Party.
Survivors include two sons, Mark and Eric, both of Spring Hill; a daughter, Judith Tilles of Kennett Square, Pa.; two sisters, Patricia Thompson of Holmdel, N.J., and Sister Joan Digan of South Orange, N.J.; a brother, Thomas Digan of Lakeland; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Sandra Dee Bice, 69, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, April 30. She was born in Flint, Mich., and moved to this area 20 years ago from Ludington, Mich.
Mrs. Bice was a member of First Baptist Church of Garden Grove.
Survivors include her husband, Ron; three sons, Ron Bice Jr. of Brooksville, Eric Bice of Palm Harbor and Troy Bice of Spring Hill; two sisters, Wanda LeClair of Ludington, Mich., and Sharon Cribis of Sanford, Mich.; and five brothers, Terry Cole of Jacksonville, and Gary Cole, Jerry Cole, Bobby Cole and Dennis Cole, all of Ludington.

Catherine Delgado, 75, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, May 1. She was born in Queens, N.Y., and moved to this area 14 years ago from Massapequa, N.Y.
Mrs. Delgado was a homemaker and a Jehovah Witness by faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Antoinette Musicaro of Spring Hill; two brothers, Joseph Filippone and Michael Filippone, both of Inwood, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

Madeline M. Penkava, 82, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, April 30, at her home. She was born in Valley Stream, N.Y., and moved to this area 12 years ago from Long Island, N.Y.
Mrs. Penkava was a homemaker and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and the New York State Club.
Survivors include her husband, Anton E.; a son, Thomas M. Penkava of Spring Hill; two daughters, Joanne Penkava of Lindenhurst, N.Y., and Cindy Katemen of East Rockaway, N.Y.; a sister, Florence Brennan of Mesa, Ariz.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Matherleen Phillips, 77, of Brooksville, died Monday, April 28, at her home.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Brooksville and was a lifelong resident.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Anita Washington; a brother-in-law, Alban Phillips of Chicago, Ill.; and a granddaughter, Katrina Moore.

Joseph Higgins, 76, of Brooksville, died Monday, April 28, at Brooksville Regional Hospital. He was born in St. Ann, Jamaica, and moved to this area 45 years ago.
Mr. Higgins was a member of Allen Temple AME Church.
Survivors include his wife, Clara; two sons, Desmond and Adolph; a daughter, Claudette; and several grandchildren.
