Budget To Be Debated At Tuesday Meeting

BROOKSVILLE - Discussion of the budget will likely dominate Tuesday's county commission meeting.

That discussion, the final item on the agenda, is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.

But there is other business ahead of that, including five items from Purchasing and Contracts Director James Gantt.

Gantt will ask commissioners to approve a final pay request to cover the costs of Spring Hill Fire Rescue Station 3 renovations in the amount of $99,000 from Bandes Construction Co.

And, in an effort to save fuel costs, Gantt will also ask commissioners to approve a no-idling policy for county vehicles.

Budget Director George Zoettlein will ask the board to approve $138,872 to purchase software used to report capital improvement projects and activities.

The meeting is at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, at the Hernando County Government Center, 20 North Main St. in downtown Brooksville.
