20-Year-Old Mother Killed In Crash

SPRING HILL - A 20-year-old Spring Hill mother was killed in a car crash this weekend. Wednesday, Dana Lyons, a Springstead High School graduate,was described by her mother as quiet and shy, but loved by many friends.

The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that a fatal crash happened on Mariner Boulevard, but a press release explaining the details was not provided Wednesday.

Lyons' son, Owen Alexander, celebrated his first birthday in January and a friend said she took him everywhere with her.

"Once she had her son everything in her life revolved around him," said Lyons' mom, Bonnie Norman.

Lyons was fond of beaches, especially Pine Island, and writing poetry. Originally from Virginia, Lyons arrived in Spring Hill four years ago.

"It's going to be tough without her," said friend Seth Gileua. Owen will have to grow up now without a mother or a father, and "that's what hurts the most."
