The Brooksville man whose fuel tanker truck fell from an overpass and exploded on U.S. 301 in Manatee County has died from his injuries on Saturday, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported.

Raymond Neumann, 54, escaped from the resulting blaze on Wednesday with severe burns and was rushed to Tampa General Hospital where he died several days later.

Investigators say Neumann was driving south on Interstate 75 and swerved to avoid an out-of-control motorist.

Neumann lived in Brooksville, but spent much of his time at his ex-wife's house in Spring Hill. Three of his children lived there. Neighbors described him as a kind, family-oriented man.
