Nazdar,
It will be chili in June at the Republican Candidate Chili Cookoff.
Come vote for your favorite chili, cooked by our candidate "chefs." This is a way to celebrate our candidates that have qualified to be on the ballot in August. Ballots will be given out at the door, so you can vote for your favorite chili. There will be Polka music, door prizes, a 50/50 raffle and lots of fun. This is a good way to meet your candidates. Refreshments and food available will be available at the event, which will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, June 20, at the Masaryktown Community Hall on Lincoln Avenue. Admission is $5, and you may pay at the door.

Can you forgive me, Pastor Robert Gant. The program did not carry your name from the annual Memorial service at the Masaryktown Cemetery. I should have known better; after all these years, you're always there. Recollecting back, one lanky Swede Olson, Navy retired at that time; VFW Post 4271 initiated this Memorial Day program and all the different clergy we tried to do this. And bless you, Pastor Gant. You stepped up and have faithfully been doing this for more than 20 years. Pastor is a native of generations and generations of Gants, and he and I are running neck and neck.
He started pastoring at the First Baptist Church of Masaryktown in 1982, and I started writing this epistle in 1981. Pastor is married to his lovely wife, Billie, and they have two children, Robbie and Melanie. Again, forgive me, Pastor. Another no-mention in the program was to thank Morgin Ciarcia for a great job singing the Star-Spangled Banner... Many thanks to everyone.
Leana Litchfield and children Evan and Abigail from Colorado Springs are here enjoying a couple weeks with Grandma and Grandpa John and Chris Kovacs. They arrived a day before the Discovery launch, and next day went to Cape Kennedy to join hubby/dad Commander Charles Litchfield of the U.S. Navy who flew in to see his dear friend, Ken Ham pilot the shuttle into space. After the launch, Charles gave Leana and the children a few hugs and had to leave again to return to his base in Colorado. The timing was fine, as Grandpa John just came home from HealthSouth Rehab Center. We wish him a speedy recovery.
Darryl Lea Moglia made his debut at Spring Hill Regional Hospital on May 29. He weighed in at 4 pounds 15 ounces and is 18 inches long. Proud new parents are Tanya Heule and T.J. Moglia; proud grandparents are Teri and Troy Smith, the late Darryl Heule, and Kevin and Susan Moglia.
