Bad Idea
Re: "Paying Attorney from Utilities Department Saves Tax Dollars" in the May 31 edition of Hernando Today.
How will that impact our utility bills in the future? Will our utility bills have to be increased in the future to pay for this?
I sense something that makes me think it is a bad decision.

Programs Interrupt Commercials
Have you ever been watching your favorite commercial on TV and, all of a sudden, a program comes on? Thank the stars that the program only lasts about five to seven minutes before another group of commercials finally comes on for between five and 10 minutes.
Of course, since we pay Bright House a hefty fee each month, one would wonder why we are so privileged to be able to watch their commercials at a rate of at least two per half hour. That's not bad, since we already have their service and everything. I mean, where else can you pay to get a service, and then get to see all of their genius advertising techniques?
I just wish all those stupid programs that may be of interest to someone would not take up so much of the advertising space. My goodness, who do these producers of films, sports programs and even newscasts think they are anyway? Well, I've got to go. I may be missing a Bright House or Bay News 9 commercial.

Brown-Waite Cares
In regards to Mr. Vahoviak's long letter this past Wednesday, I want to set the record straight about the 2006 election. John Russell did not lose by 9 percent, it was 20 percent. He got blown away.
Once again you use the same old line that Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite is giving out 35-cent medals to buy votes. Tell me Mr. Vahoviak that former former U.S. Rep. Karen Thurman did not do the same thing? Please give me a break; congressmen and women do this all the time.
Why, just in today's paper there was a story about another World War II veteran finally receiving his Purple Heart. Are you going to tell him he was being used by Ms. Brown-Waite to get his vote or that his medal was worth 35 cents?
For someone who says he cares so much for veterans, I would think you would be happy for these guys who finally get the medals. Obviously, you don't think medals mean anything but, to these men, it means a lot.
If Mr. Vahoviak was truly interested in getting help for veterans in the district then, he should be willing to work with Ms. Brown-Waite to see that the veterans get the proper care he says is sorely missing.
I will say this about Ms. Brown-Waite. She visits her district more often than most others in Congress. She is someone who will listen to your concerns and do whatever she can for you.
But more importantly she has the right temperament for the job; something that John Russell sorely lacks.

Cry Baby Bollea
Frankly, I don't care if I never see or hear another word about the spoiled rich kid of a celebrity. Bollea did the deed, had his day in court, is serving his time, and that's enough!
Stop already!
