James Hugh Austin, 61, of Spring Hill, died Monday, June 2, at his home. He was born in Knox City, Texas, and moved to this area 18 years ago from Arlington, Texas.

Mr. Austin was a U.S. Army veteran, having served as a communications specialist for 21 years.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; two daughters, Dana Hood of Weeki Wachee and Keri Austin of Spring Hill; a stepbrother, Ed Wills of Huntsville, Ala.; his mother and stepfather, Marie and Derwood Wills of Arlington; three grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
