Some candidates for local and state races have amassed a good chunk of money.
Others will have to get by on a shoestring budget.
The latest deadline to report campaign contributions came and went Friday.
Here's a rundown of who has raised what through July 18. The list does not include in-kind donations:

County Commission District 1

Republican incumbent Jeff Stabins has outpaced his challengers in fundraising efforts. Stabins brought in $14,319 and reported expenditures of $10,828.
There are two Republicans vying for the seat. Michael Burmann took in $6,229 and spent $5,694. Jon "JAZ" Zydenbos raised $3,947 and spent $3,716.
Ramon Gutierrez, the sole Democrat in the race, raised $50 and spent $32.96.

County Commission District 3

Democratic incumbent Diane Rowden, who has vowed not to take money from donors who have or might come before the commission, has been outmatched so far by one of her would-be challengers.
Rowden, who has no primary opponent, has raised $15,895 and spent $12,655. None of the donors were recognizable names that have brought business before the commission.
Of her three Republican opponents, former school board member John Druzbick has raised the most with $25,635. Druzbick has spent $16,591.
Hubert "Wayne" Dukes has raised $10,879 and spent $7,358.
Charles Gaskin brought in $3,617 and spent $3,476.

County Commission District 5

Democratic incumbent Chris Kingsley, who has no primary opponents, has nearly been matched in fundraising by one of his would-be challengers.
Kingsley has raised $25,215 and spent $9,302.
There are a least a few recognizable contributors who have brought business before the commission. Coastal Engineering and Associates, a Brooksville firm that has done work on many developments in the county, donated $250.
J. Robert Sierra, chairman and CEO of Sierra Properties, the developer of the Hickory Hill project in Spring Lake, donated $350. Waste Management, one of the county's three waste haulers, donated $500.
There are three Republicans vying to challenge Kingsley. Of those, William "Billy" Healis has raised the most, reporting $24,095. Healis has spent $11,359.
James Adkins raised $16,745 and spent $6,781.
Michael Robinson has brought in $1,270 and spent $436.

Supervisor of Elections

Democratic incumbent Annie Williams hasn't put an emphasis on fundraising. Williams has raised $1,110 to date and spent $877.90.
Compare that to her Republican opponent Shirley Anderson, who brought in $24,892 and spent $4,062.
Gus Guadagnino, who is running without party affiliation, raised $5,200 and spent $4,084. Guadagnino donated $5,000 of that.

Hernando County Sheriff

Incumbent Richard Nugent, a Republican, has a pile of cash on hand to try to keep his job. Nugent didn't raise any money between April 1 and July 18, but already had $32,000 on hand. He has spent $7,863.
Democrat Luke Frazier reported $3,550, which included $3,400 of his own money.

School Board, District 4

Robert Neuhausen reported $3,973 in cash contributions. James Yant has raised $12,615 and spent $10,335.
Gene Magrini had not filed a report as of Monday. He will be fined $50 for every day past the deadline, up to the amount he has raised.

Spring Hill Fire Rescue Seat A

Incumbent Robert Giammarco has not raised any money. The other incumbent, George Biro has raised $50.
Amy Brosnan reported $75. James Monk did not raise any money. The elections office had not received the reports from the other two challengers, Benjamin Edwards and John Pasquale, by Monday afternoon.

Incumbent state legislators rake in money

Rep. Rob Schenck and Sen. Mike Fasano are reaping the rewards of incumbency.
Schenck, a Spring Hill Republican who has no primary opponent in the race for the District 44 seat, raked in $47,562 from 103 contributions between April 1 and July 18. He has raised $78,326 this year.
Contributors come from a range of fields and professions, and several donations came from political action committees. Among the $500 contributors are: Wal-Mart Stores Inc.; Realtors Political Action Committee of Florida; Mortgage Bankers of Florida; the Florida Property and Casualty Association; and the United States Sugar Corporation.
Contributors that have a local connection include Corrections Corporation of America, which is based in Nashville, Tenn., and runs the Hernando County Jail; Civil-Tech Engineering in Brooksville; the Palace Grand in Spring Hill; and Cortez Community Bank in Brooksville.
Joseph Puglia, the lone Democratic candidate, reported $2,360 in contributions. They included $1,100 from Puglia himself. The rest came from individual donors.
Green Party candidate Sarah Roman reported one contribution, a $2,000 loan to herself.
Fasano, R-New Port Richey, has no primary challengers in his bid to keep his District 11 seat, but two Democrats are vying for a chance to unseat him.
Fasano raised $68,963 between April 1 and July 18. He has brought in more than $161,000 since the first of the year. That included more than $18,000 of in-kind donations from the Florida Republican Party.
The list of donors included a host of physicians and health-care providers. Among the $500 contributors are the Florida Cattle Political Action Committee and the Florida Power and Light Employees PAC.
Fred Taylor, one of two Democrats hoping to challenge Fasano, has some resources to work with thanks to the Democratic Party and his own checkbook.
Taylor raised $20,285 this period and a total of $55,245 this year. In-kind donations from the state party represented more than $37,000 of that total. Taylor also donated $10,500 to his campaign.
The other Democrat, Richard Skandera, reported one contribution of $2,015.92, which he gave to his own campaign.
