Watch the Rays And Tigers Play On Lutheran Day

Lutheran Day at the Ballpark of Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg will be held at 6:10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2.

The cost is $15 per ticket to see the Tampa Bay Rays play the Detroit Tigers. This Care in Abounds Communities Project will benefit Luther Springs Camp. Three dollars from each ticket will go to the camp.

Major Mark and wife Becky Evans enjoyed a few days at Fort Walton Beach last week, also finalizing the major's retirement papers from the U.S. Air Force. While enjoying the sun and surf, Becky met a couple from the Czech Republic - John and Anna Marhula who are from a town called Tabor, Czech Republic.

Marhula is in the Czech Army and is in some military training in Eglund Air Force Base for a few months. So, Becky calls me to get a few words to say to them in Czech.

Last Sunday, Helen Parsolano hosted a swim party at her home to celebrate her daughter Stephanie's Sweet 16 birthday, which was the next day (Monday). Attending the party were younger sister Rebecca, grandmother, Helen Havens, David Marcum and friends all enjoyed swimming, cooking out, and a big cake.

Last week was Christmas in July at Rogers' Christmas House Village, and it actually ends today at 5 p.m. It is located on Saxon Avenue in Brooksville. Congratulations to the new owners, George and Diana Rodriguez. Santa and Mrs. Claus made their appearances Sunday, Monday and Wednesday and will be back in November and December; dates and times will follow, as well as lots of folks from all over the world. The Christmas House offers five Victorian Holiday Homes, many new changes, new gifts from all over the world, and many collectibles. A yard and bake sale is scheduled for Aug. 2 in Kennedy Park on U.S. 41 and Wilson Boulevard near the yellow caution light. It is sponsored by the Masaryktown Activities Club to help one of their members raise money to go to her son's memorial services in Wisconsin. The sale starts at 8 a.m.
