Herbert R. Sowers, 75, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, July 24, at his home. He was born in Thomasville, N.C., and moved to this area eight years ago from High Point, N.C.
Mr. Sowers was a retired diesel technician/representative who worked for RCA in Cut Bank, Mont., and also worked for Cumming Diesel and Ford Motor Company, both in Greensboro, N.C., and Stroh's Can Company in Winston Salem, N.C., and was owner/operator of Herb Sowers Tool Company. He was a Korean conflict U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; a son, Kermit Sowers of Jacksonville; three daughters, Darlene Kimrey of Staley, N.C., Sherry S. Fletcher of Jacksonville, N.C., and Marcia Norgart of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Edgar Sowers of Stockett, Mont.; two sisters, Vernelle Pope and Doris Baranowski, both of Thomasville; and five grandchildren.
Arrangements by Merritt Funeral Homes, Spring Hill Chapel.

Carolyn B. Shriver, 57, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, July 24, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Unit, Chatman Boulevard, Brooksville. She was born in Collingdale, Pa., and moved to this area 12 years ago from New Jersey.
Mrs. Shriver was an electronics technician for RCA.
Survivors include her daughter, Christina Shriver; and two sisters, Elsie Keown and Betty Ann.

Roger Eugene Mumma Sr., 67, of Brooksville, died Tuesday, July 22. He was born in Lancaster, Pa., and moved to Florida 38 years ago from Freehold, N.J.
Mr. Mumma was an electrician and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; four sons, Roger Jr., Francis, David and Joseph; three daughters, Lisa Huss, Donna Cotter and Deborah Nichols; a brother, William; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements by Grace Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, U.S. 19, Hudson.

Muriel E. Malley, 84, of Brooksville, died Thursday, July 24, at the Hospice Care Center, Hudson.
Mrs. Malley was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include three daughters, Geraldine, Kathleen and Catherine; three sons, Raymond, Timothy and Thomas; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
