Deputies say a Brooksville man beat his wife and held a loaded gun to her head after she dumped his drugs down the sink.
The violence began when the victim confronted her husband, James Johnson, about the drugs she reportedly found beneath a couch cushion on Thursday.
He flew into a rage when she poured the drugs down the sink, smashing a big-screen TV with a candle and punching the victim several times in the back of the head, a report states.
He fled their house at 16274 Sacramento Ave. in his pickup, but not before backing the dually into his wife's pickup, a report states. Johnson was pulled over nearby at California Street and Powell Road; deputies say they recovered two guns and ammunition from the truck.
Johnson, 33, was charged with aggravated assault, domestic battery and carrying a concealed firearm.
