BROOKSVILLE - The City Council has agreed the generator recently installed in front of City Hall is an eyesore and that a wall should be built to hide it.
On Monday, they'll have to decide how to tweak their plans now that the lone bid for the construction of the wall has come in at three times the amount of money they planned to spend.
The wall is one of just a few items on a light agenda for the meeting, slated for 7 p.m. at City Hall, 201 N. Howell Ave.
The sole bid came from Ressel, Inc., which offered to do the job for $65,500.
The city had planned to spend a maximum of $23,000 on the wall. The funds were left over from a USDA grant. City staff is suggesting the wall could be smaller or less decorative, and that city workers could do more of the site work.
