Shame On The Senate

After watching the legislative meeting at the Hernando County Courthouse last week on television, I would like to make this comment.

In response to Sen. Mike Fasano's answer to Wayne Dukes' comment that the Senate receives a failing grade for not accomplishing meaningful tax relief was very revealing.

The senator's answer was: "It's hard to agree what time it is, no less get a super majority vote on tax relief." I think he proved Wayne Dukes' concerns. The Florida Senate is incapable of drafting a proposal for a fair and meaningful tax package. I think Sen. Fasano should realize that after working diligently for insurance reform with partial success. The Florida Senate's parochial vision of tax relief proves it is impotent in solving problems that concerns all of Florida's residents, especially during a time of economic despair.

Florida needed and deserved a nonpartisan fix of the taxation problem to jumpstart the economy, and what did they do? They drafted an amendment that will have a minimal effect on the economy and perpetuated the inequities of the tax code.

Kudos to the Florida House of Representatives, which got it right, and shame on the Senate. Vote "No" on Amendment 1 and tell them to go back and get it right this time while the budget and reform committee is still in session.

A Kangaroo Court?

As a concerned citizen of Spring Hill, whatever happened to the 11 police officers and their supervisor sergeant who were involved in the chase on Mariner Boulevard in excess of 100 mph and taken out of service?

Someone here is wrong, and I don't think it was the officers. Unless it's legal to go 100 mph on Mariner Boulevard anytime, this sounds like a kangaroo court action. I hope not.

I was involved with kangaroo courts in Korea in 1952 - it's not nice.

Paul Perfect

Pick For President

Ron Paul's presidency would give us a vital supplement of Constitutional medicine. Perfect results would not come overnight or all at once, but, the body politic, receiving doses of serum, would heal from the nightmarish disease of an absolute-debt monetary system, endless, unwinable, undeclared wars that stain foreign lands with our children's blood paid as tribute to the world's entrenched plutocratic elite.

A vote for Paul could lead to an America that Americans have never seen - a nation fundamentally different from the one we are now incarcerated in. Creative energy that could be released by hefty federal spending reductions, eliminate scores of needless regulations and elimination of the income tax, big cuts. Imagine nixing NAFTA and restoring U.S. manufacturing.

Ron Paul will work to get government out of our private lives. As of now, our government has control of the people under the guidelines of socialist-communist guidelines under the guise of protecting us from what?

We, the people, haven't had freedom as the Constitution states since World War II. We are entrenched in slavery to the national debt that can never be paid in full. Generations to come will be enslaved to this debt forever. The elites on Wall Street and the Federal Reserve will see to that.

We haven't had a president that had the guts to stand up to them and do something politically within our Constitution and that includes Congress.

You want our constitutional government back that our forefathers gave us in 1776? Then vote for Ron Paul. Paul for president can give us all political fresh air.

Wow! What a change.

Paul's voting record in Congress proves he always voted for the people's best interest, not the elites.
