BROOKSVILLE - Fifth Circuit Judge Kurt Hitzemann wants to stick around for another term.

Hitzemann, a 45-year-old Spring Hill resident, pre-filed with the county elections office on Friday for the circuit's Group 2 seat.

Former Gov. Jeb Bush appointed Hitzemann, a former assistant state attorney and senior assistant county attorney, to a new judge position created by the Legislature to help with a burgeoning caseload in Hernando County.
