Townhome Project On P&Z Agenda

»  Comments | Post a Comment

One of the shortest agendas in recent memory will greet planning and zoning commissioners when they convene today for their monthly meeting.

Only five items are scheduled on the standard agenda.

The biggest project is likely to be a request from Rhema LLC to develop a 50-acre site at Emerson Road and Cortez Boulevard as a 200-unit mixed residential community.

The property's northern 30 acres would consist of 184 two-story townhomes and the southern 20 acres would have 16 single-family homes.

Project engineer Nicholas Nicholson scaled down the project at the request of planning and zoning commissioners who believed the development was too dense for the area.

The planning and zoning meeting is at 9 a.m. at the Hernando County Government Center, 20 North Main St. in downtown Brooksville.

Also at Monday's meeting, planning commissioners will:

Consider a request to operate a portable roadside stand at Hunters Lake Road, east of U.S. 19.

Discuss a master plan revision that would allow an investment-consulting group to convert four existing model homes at the northeast corner of Mariner Boulevard and Landover Boulevard into office and professional space.

Consider a request from the Hernando Beach South Property Owner's Association to erect a 15-foot wide, 11-foot high community event sign at Shoal Line Boulevard.
