Woman Claims Molestation By Wanted Doctor

A former Spring Hill doctor on the sheriff's most wanted list is being sued by a former patient on a claim that he molested her in his office.

A judge ordered Dr. A. Hussam Armashi jailed in 2005 after he failed to show up for a court appearance. He was charged at the time with sexual battery on an incapacitated person.

Court records show that similar charges were pressed against him in 2001, but they were later dropped by prosecutors.

His last known location is in his native Damascus, Syria, according to published reports.

This latest lawsuit, filed last Wednesday, alleges that Armashi "assaulted and battered" sexually without her permission from Dec. 17, 2004, through January 2005.

The actions were "designed to humiliate, degrade and violate" the victim, according to the lawsuit.
