A pancake breakfast is scheduled after the 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Masses on Sunday Sept. 7 at St. Mary's Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, located on U.S. 41 south. On the menu will be pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon strips, juice and coffee - all for a donation of $3.50 per person. Registration for CCD classes will be on Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. For more information, call 796-2792.
There will be a St. Vincent de Paul food drive on Sunday, Sept. 14 with two large canisters by the front door. Your donations can be left in them after the 8:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. Masses. To get assistance from St. Vincent de Paul, you can call 796-6606. There is a thrift store on Kass Circle. If you have any furniture or estate items to donate, call the store at 688-3331.
Mark your calendars: on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will hold its annual fall flea market and bake sale. It's a girl!
Madelyn Marie Mitchell made her debut on Aug. 20 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. She weighed in at 9 pounds and is 21 inches long.
First-time proud parents are Amy and Matt Mitchell of Tallahassee; new grandparents are our town secretary Linda Lovelady and her hubby Tom, uncle Ryan Lovelady of Orlando, great-aunt and uncle Sidney and Don Romine of here, and other grandparents Mark and Maureen Mitchell of Tallahassee. Lars, Melissa and little Lars Salomonsen have visitors, Lars' mother Gail Devlin and his grandmother Karen Agnaldsen are down from North Dartmouth, Mass.
The Artist's Gardens and Stables thrift shop near the yellow caution light has closed, so please do not leave donations there anymore.
They have two new locations now, the Adult Day Training Center on Psenka Street and the Community Training Center on County Line Road (the Pasco County side), according to owner/director Connie Calub, who is joined by Lillian Politowicz-ADT program director, and Kim Lummus-assistant program director.
They help mentally challenged adults learn and enhance skills toward increasing their independence and expanding life experiences through community interaction and integration. They have about 60 students and staff. They provide training in computer skills, literacy skills, cooking and baking, gardening and landscaping. Volunteer opportunities are available for their equestrian program. For more information, call 796-9702.

You asked for it and here it is - an open-air farmers market. In Kennedy Park on U.S. 41 here in town near the yellow caution light, a farmers market is forming. Every Wednesday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., farmers are welcome to sell their produce. Lark Napier will be there with his produce. The guests at the Stabins' victory party at the home of Tony and Sherry Pedonesi included Paul and Cathi Brosnan and their daughter Amy, Glenn and Sherry Kerr and their son Shawn, Roger and Janice Palmer, Kemmin and Beth Gates, Tom Barnyarde, Larry (Chigger) and Jude Simpson and their son Dan, Hutch Hutchins and Dolly Pierce.
