I'm writing this on behalf of my adopted Florida mom. Her name is Lorayne Januskiewicz. Lately she's been having some rough times. She's been very down in the dumps for sometime, financially and emotionally, and also has had far more than her share of illnesses.
Today, though, she had to go pick up some necessities at the supermarket on Cortez Boulevard in Spring Hill. The cashier rang up her items and it came to $8 and change. She was searching frantically for her charge card to pay but couldn't find it.
Meanwhile a young fellow, who was standing behind her, reached into his pocket and handed the cashier a $10 bill to pay for her groceries. His name is Eric McDana. From what she told me, he is somehow physically handicapped, which seemed to make this even more unbelievable. He didn't want to give her his name because he didn't want her to pay him back, but she finally forced it out of him.
I just wish he knew how much more he gave to her than paying for her groceries. He helped restore her faith in humanity. I feel he should be recognized for such a selfless act.
